Karol Bagh Fake Income Tax Raid: One such sensational incident has come to light in Karol Bagh, the country’s capital Delhi. Hearing this incident, people will also forget the Bollywood hit film ‘Special 26’. Five people suddenly entered the jewelery workshop and introduced themselves as Income Tax and Police officers. After this, they took over the entire shop and in no time ran away with a kilo of gold.
The incident was carried out so spectacularly that no one could understand that it was all fake. But this high-profile robbery ended in just 72 hours. The Central District Police conducted rapid raids one after the other and caught the entire gang and recovered gold, cash, vehicles and fake ID cards.
What is the matter? How did the whole incident happen?
This matter is of 27 November 2025. Five people suddenly arrived at a jewelery workshop in Karol Bagh. One accused was in police uniform while the remaining four introduced themselves as Income Tax officers. They confiscated the mobile phones of the employees, conducted a mock search, took out the DVR of the CCTV and quietly left with about 1 kg of gold. As soon as the complaint was registered, Prasad Nagar police station came into action and a major operation started.
Film Chase: 1200 Kms Interstate Chase
The police team searched more than 250 CCTVs in Delhi and many cities of Haryana – Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Sonipat, Rohtak, Hansi, Jhajjar, Jind and Hisar. Three suspicious vehicles were marked and then Delhi Police started an interstate chase. The first arrest was made from Bahadurgarh and after that the entire gang was caught one by one.
Inspired by ‘Special 26’
During interrogation it was revealed that this gang had made the entire plan after watching the film ‘Special 26’. A conspiracy was hatched to enter in the form of fake police and income tax officials and loot the gold. Of the looted gold, 428 grams was also sold. Its money was distributed among everyone. The police have seized a large part of that amount.

- Lovepreet Singh alias Kaka (30): Fake Income Tax Officer.
- Shaminder Pal Singh alias Sinni (43): Fake police sub-inspector.
- Rakesh Sharma (41): Property dealer, dealer of fake ID cards and lanyards.
What was recovered?
Police recovered 435.03 grams of gold, Rs 3.97 lakh in cash, and three vehicles – Brezza, Urban Cruiser and Swift Dezire. Fake police ID card holder, lanyard and uniform were also found with them.
