Biggest Income tax raid: ED conducted coordinated raids at more than 40 places in West Bengal (24 locations) and Jharkhand (18 locations) in connection with illegal coal mining and transportation. A huge amount of cash and gold has been recovered during the raid.
Biggest income tax raid: More than 100 ED officers raided more than 40 places, the raid was so big that cash and gold were seized in briefcases and bags. This raid was a big action against the coal mafia, in which the premises associated with Anil Goyal, Sanjay Udyog, Lal Babu Singh and Amar Mandal were raided.
A huge amount of cash and gold has been recovered during the raid. ED conducted coordinated raids at more than 40 locations in West Bengal (24 locations) and Jharkhand (18 locations) in connection with illegal coal mining and transportation. The ED team is conducting search operations at the hideouts of the coal mafia from Ranchi to Dhanbad. More than 100 ED officers were involved in the operation which took place around 6 am. During this time, along with the houses of the concerned people, toll collection booths and check posts were also searched. A large amount of property including cash and jewelery was seized in the raids.
Dogs left during raid
However, during this time L.B. One action of Singh put the officials in trouble. To prevent ED officers from entering the house, LB Singh had unleashed his pet dogs. The dogs were roaming in the residential premises of LB Singh and were preventing ED officers from entering the house. As soon as the officers tried to go inside the house, the dogs would start barking. However, later the officers were successful in going inside the house.
Rs 500-500 notes in briefcases and bags
In this raid which started around 6 in the morning, many bundles of Rs 500-500 notes were found in briefcases and bags. Apart from this, a large quantity of gold jewelery has also been recovered. According to officials, these cases collectively involve loss of government revenue worth hundreds of crores of rupees. This action is a coordinated and comprehensive campaign against coal mafias in Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Raids at more than 40 places
Dhanbad’s big coal businessman L.B. Singh and his brother Kumbhnath Singh both own a coal outsourcing company and this action is being taken in order to investigate the cases related to coal scanning that have come to light in recent times. Earlier, about 10 years ago, in the tender scam case in BCCL, CBI had arrested L.B. Singh’s hideouts were raided. During that raid, L.B. An incident of Singh firing on the CBI team also came to light.
