Panaji. All 25 people killed in the Goa night club fire have been identified. These include 20 employees and five tourists. Of the five tourists killed in the fire, four were from Delhi, including three members of the same family. The fifth tourist was from Karnataka. The state government released the list of all 25 dead on Sunday night.
A massive fire broke out in the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ night club located in Arpora in the early hours of Sunday, in which 25 people died. The four tourists from Delhi have been identified as Saroj Joshi, Anita Joshi, Kamala Joshi and Vinod Kumar. On Sunday, his relative Bhavna Joshi identified him.
3-3 staff from Jharkhand and Assam
Another tourist killed in this tragedy has been identified as Ishaq from Karnataka. The government said that he was identified by his father M.D. Hussain. According to the list, 20 of the victims were nightclub employees, including five from Uttarakhand, four from Nepal, three each from Jharkhand and Assam, two each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and one from West Bengal.
Highest number of people from Uttarakhand
The largest number of victims (employees) are from Uttarakhand, who have been identified as Jitendra Singh, Satish Singh, Surendra Singh, Sumit Negi and Manish Singh. The four Nepalese nationals have been identified as Churna Bahadur Pun, Vivek Katwal, Sabin and Sudeep.
Darjeeling’s only deceased identified
Dominic and Manoj Jora from Maharashtra, while Rohan Singh and Sunil Kumar from Uttar Pradesh are included. The lone deceased from Darjeeling (West Bengal) has been identified as Subhash Chhetri. Mohit, Pradeep Mahato and Binod Mahato from Jharkhand, while three others from Assam, Manojit Mal, Rahul Tanti and Digambar Patir also died in the accident.
Goa nightclub fire: Three senior government officials suspended
Three senior officials of the Goa government, including the then Panchayat Director, were suspended on Sunday in connection with the night club fire incident. This information was given by a senior officer. The then panchayat director was suspended for his role in granting permission to the club to start operations in 2023, the official said. The suspended officials include the then Panchayat Director Siddhi Tushar Harlankar, Dr. Shamila Monteiro, the then Member Secretary, Goa State Pollution Control Board and the then Secretary, Gram Panchayat Arpora-Nagoa Raghuvir Bagkar.
