Motihari News: The court gave its verdict in favor of Fekan Thakur and Mangal Thakur in the 48 year old land dispute in Ajgari village of Motihari. Following this decision, the house was demolished with four bulldozers and possession was taken.

According to the information received, a big decision of the court has finally come on the 48 year old land dispute in Ajgari village under Ajgarwa-Sishani Panchayat of Pakdidayal police station area of East Champaran district. In this case, which has been going on for about 48 years, on the orders of Motihari Civil Court, the pucca house built on the disputed plot was demolished with the help of four bulldozers under the supervision of the administration. During the operation, tight security arrangements were made in the entire village and heavy police force was deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
According to the information, in the year 1977, Fekan Thakur and Mangal Thakur of Ajgari village had filed a suit in the court alleging that their Patidars – Rajkumar Thakur, Siyaram Thakur and Raghuvansh Thakur forcibly occupied their 6 bigha land and built a house on it. After years of hearing, debate and paperwork, the court finally ruled in favor of Phekan and Mangal Thakur and issued an order to give possession to the land owner.
Action in the presence of police officers, magistrates and administrative staff
The administrative team had reached the village to implement the court order. The process of vacating the encroachment started in the presence of Commissioner Rajeev Shankar Verma, police officers, magistrates and administrative staff. First the house was evacuated, after which four bulldozers together completely demolished the pucca house. Commissioner Rajeev Shankar Verma, who was present at the spot, said, “According to the court order, Phekan Thakur and Mangal Thakur have been given possession of their land. The action was taken in a completely peaceful environment.” During the action, a crowd of supporters from both sides had gathered at the spot, but due to the strictness of the administration, no disturbance took place.
There was a situation of politics and tension for decades
Keeping in view the security arrangements, police patrolling was increased in the entire village. The administration is also alert to ensure that new construction does not take place on the disputed land. According to local people, this land dispute had been a cause of village politics and tension for many decades. After the court’s decision, there is now hope among the villagers that the long-running tension in the area will end and peace will prevail. This entire incident of implementing the court order remained a topic of discussion throughout the day in the village. People were seen openly discussing the settlement of cases pending for years and strict action by the administration.
