New Delhi. You must have also traveled from Noida Sector 37 to Greater Noida via Bhangel and Surajpur. You must have faced traffic jams on this route also. This traffic jam, which has been going on for more than two decades, is now over. Noida Development Authority has opened the 4.5 km long elevated road built in Bhangel for traffic. Now it will be easy to reach many sectors of Noida from Greater Noida via Surajpur and Bhangel and will also get rid of the morning and evening traffic jam.
The construction of Bhangel Elevated Road started about 5 years ago. It was also ready a few months ago. But, as it has not been started yet, farmers started protesting and put pressure on the authority. Noida Authority, under the pressure of protest, finally opened this elevated road for the common man from Tuesday. Now the commuters in all the sectors of Noida will get its benefit.
The proposal was received 12 years ago
The proposal to build Bhangel Elevated Road was received in the year 2013 and its construction started in June 2020. This delay of 7 years was due to various approvals including lack of funds. Earlier the deadline for making it was December 2022, which had to be extended several times and finally it could be ready in 2025. The timeline of this elevated road, which was completed in 5 years, had to be changed several times. UP State Bridge Corporation Limited, the company building this road, completed its construction work in August and handed it over to Noida Authority.
Inauguration postponed several times
Officials associated with the construction say that earlier the plan was to get it inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. For this, a plan was made during the UP International Trade Show between 25th to 29th September. Later it was increased to the first week of October, but this also did not work. Ever since its construction started, shopkeepers and residents living around it were facing the problem of traffic jam for 5 years.
Why was there wait for the inauguration?
Although this elevated road was ready a few months ago, its official inauguration was awaited. Bharatiya Kisan Union (Lokshakti) leader Chaudhary BC Pradhan said that we had been waiting for this for a long time. Therefore, they started protesting against the authority and by removing the barricading, it was started for the common man. Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M says that now this elevated road has been opened for the common man on Tuesday itself. Its official inauguration will be done later.
It will take only 5 minutes instead of 40
This elevated road has been stretched till Alaghpur Pump near Noida Sector 51, from where it will be easy to reach the Special Economic Zone. It has cost Rs 608 crore to build this 6 lane flyover. Through this, the time taken between Noida and Dadri will be significantly reduced. Currently it takes 40 minutes to cover this distance, which will later reduce to just 5 minutes.
Where will you get relief from traffic jam?
Through this elevated flyover, people traveling to many sectors of Noida will get relief from jams. First of all, it will be easier for the people commuting between Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera. This elevated road will also benefit the people commuting to Salarpur, Chhalera, Barola, Bhangel, Aghapur and its surrounding villages. Apart from this, those going to NSEZ, Surajpur and Dadri from Noida Sector 40, 41, 43, 47, 48, 82, 88, 101 and 106 will also no longer have to get stuck in traffic jams. The authority has also planned to connect these places to this elevated road by building a loop road. Apart from this, movement from Sector 49 to 107 and in the Hanuman Statue area will also become easier. The authority will issue a separate tender for the loop road.
