Due to automatic signaling work in Nipaniya-Bhatapara section in Raipur division of South East Central Railway, a block of 36 hours has been taken between 6-7 December. During this period, a total of 12 trains will be canceled while two trains will be terminated midway. Railways has described this as an important phase of infrastructure development and has appealed for cooperation from passengers.
A team of engineers is continuously working on the installation of automatic signaling in the Nipania-Bhatapara triple line section. This upgrade will improve both the speed and safety of trains in future.
During the block, 12 MEMU and passenger trains including Raipur-Bilaspur, Bilaspur-Gevra Road, Gevra Road-Bilaspur, Raipur-Itwari, Korba-Raipur will remain completely cancelled. Passengers are likely to face inconvenience while traveling on these routes for two days.
Due to cancellation of trains like train numbers 68728, 68734, 68733, 68719, 58203, 58205, 68746, daily commuters will face the most trouble. These include most of the crowded trains running on local routes.

68861 Gondia-Jharsuguda and 68862 Jharsuguda-Gondia MEMU train will not run beyond Bilaspur. Rail service will be completely closed on Bilaspur-Jharsuguda section on both days, due to which the planning of long distance passengers may be affected.
The railway administration said that this cancellation is temporary and once the signaling upgrade is completed, the operation of trains will become more smooth and safe. Expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to the passengers, Railways has appealed to make travel plans carefully for two days.
