Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile: The strategic situation of the world has changed a lot in the last few years. The fire of armed conflict is spreading from West Asia to Eastern Europe. In view of the ill-will of Pakistan and China, it has become necessary for India to prepare itself on two fronts. This is the reason why along with the Air Force, the Indian Navy and Army are continuously being upgraded.
Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile: China is situated on one side of India’s border and Pakistan is situated on the other side. The whole world is aware of the misdeeds of these two countries. While Pakistan is a haven for terrorists, everyone knows about China’s expansion and usurpation policy. Pakistan has had only one policy for decades – to destabilize India through terrorists. However, now both time and circumstances have changed. India has announced to give a befitting reply to any kind of terrorist attacks. Operation Sindoor launched by the Indian Armed Forces after the Pahalgam attack is a living example of this. After the military operation, India has started a campaign to strengthen and strengthen its security system. Along with the Army, even the Air Force and Navy are being upgraded. There is a weapon in the sheath of Navy, which is capable of destroying the enemies in the blink of an eye. This missile has no match in terms of range and speed. The biggest feature is that it can be fired at the target from ‘Paatal Lok’. This means that this ultra-modern ballistic missile can be fired from a submarine. With this technology, India has joined the list of those rare countries which have surface and air fired missile technology.
We are talking about Indian Navy’s Maharathi missile K-4. It can be launched from submarine. For this reason it is called submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). The target can be destroyed by locking it from under water. Let us tell you that the K-4 missile was tested from the submarine INS Arighat near the Visakhapatnam coast. Officials said that this was the first test of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). This solid fuel missile has been tested at least five times in the last few years from an underwater launch platform. The missile was tested almost to its full lethality. INS Arighat, the second submarine of the Arihant category, was inducted into the Indian Navy on 29 August with the aim of strengthening India’s nuclear deterrence capability.

More range than BrahMos missile
The K-4 SLBM’s firepower can be gauged from the fact that its range is seven times more than the firepower of the current version of the BrahMos cruise missile. At present the range of BrahMos missile is 450 to 500 kilometers. If reports are to be believed, India has tested the new variant of BrahMos, which has a range of 800 kilometers. It is being told that work is going on on another version of BrahMos missile, after which its range will be up to 1500 kilometers. BrahMos missile with 800 km range is also being deployed on various fronts. On the other hand, K-4 SLBM missile is capable of hitting up to 3500 kilometers. This ballistic missile is also capable of carrying nuclear warheads. In this way, at present the K-4 SLBM is capable of striking at a longer range than the BrahMos cruise missile that brought Pakistan to its knees.
K-4 SLBM: Trader of Speed
Capable of attacking submarines, the K-4 SLBM is capable of moving towards the target at hypersonic speed. Although, information about the speed of K-4 SLBM has not been made public, it is believed that it is capable of moving at a speed of Mach 5 or more. This means that K-4 SLBM can attack the enemy at a speed of at least 6200 kilometers per hour. On the other hand, BrahMos cruise missile can attack at a maximum speed of Mach 3 i.e. 3700 kilometers per hour. In this way, K-4 SLBM is also superior to BrahMos in terms of speed. K-4 SLBM is considered to be an infallible ‘Brahmastra’ in the quiver of the Indian Navy, which is capable of piercing the chest of the enemies and bringing them to their knees in the blink of an eye.
