Manali Tourist: There has been an increase in the number of tourists in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Tourists are arriving in anticipation of snowfall. However, the crowd will increase on New Year and Christmas. Also, when there are chances of snowfall, people will move towards the mountains.
Manali. Now the tourism business in Himachal Pradesh is slowly coming back on track. In such a situation, tourists have once again started turning to Kullu Manali. After the breakdown of roads in Kullu Manali during the rainy season, the tourism business of Manali was affected for a long time. In such a situation, gradually a large number of tourists have started reaching Manali in their vehicles. Tourists will increase on New Year and Christmas.
After the large number of tourists in the months of October and November, now the tourism businessmen of the valley are also hopeful of good business in December.
Kullu District Tourism Development Officer Rohit Sharma said that in August 2025, about 3402 vehicles passed through the Green Tax Barrier Manali. Whereas in the month of September, after the disaster, tourists were not able to reach here due to the bad condition of the roads. In such a situation, only 2 tourist vehicles had reached Manali. At the same time, after the first snowfall in the month of October, tourist traffic increased in the valley. In such a situation, 13639 tourist vehicles have reached Manali in the month of October.
Whereas last month in November this figure reached 21138. Meanwhile, tourists from the valley have started reaching Manali even in the first week of December. In this way, tourism business is also expected to increase in the valley within three months.
More tourists expected compared to previous years
- In the year 2023, 24270 tourist vehicles reached Manali in the month of January whereas in 2024 this figure will increase to 27010 and will increase to 36845 in 2025.
· 45005 vehicles in February 2023, 16228 vehicles in February 2024 while 22048 vehicles passed through the green tax barrier in 2025.
· In the month of March 2023, 71865 vehicles, in March 2024 28935 vehicles and in March 2025 34104 vehicles entered Manali.
· 17465 vehicles passed through the green tax barrier in April 2023, 25624 in April 2024, and 41271 in April 2025.
The figure of 9487 vehicles was recorded in May 2023, 60256 vehicles in May 2024, 41768 vehicles in May 2025.
· 10920 tourist vehicles were registered on green tax in June 2023, 91582 in June 2024, and 81772 in June 2025.
· 19498 vehicles passed through the green tax barrier in July 2023, 15865 in July 2024 and 8143 in July 2025.
· 19168 vehicles reached Manali in August 2023, 5366 in August 2024 and 3402 tourist vehicles in August 2025.
· In September 2023, 42864 vehicles, in September 2024 13471 and in September 2025 only 2 tourist vehicles passed through the green tax barrier.
· 37750 vehicles entered Manali in October 2023, 16802 vehicles in October 2024 and 13639 vehicles in October 2025.
· In the month of November in 2023, the figure was 20042, whereas in November 2024 it increased to 23968. By November 2025 this figure would be 21138.
· In December 2023, 27570 tourist vehicles came to Manali while in December 2024, 41510 vehicles reached here. In such a situation, people associated with tourism business are hopeful that by 2025 this figure will increase more than the last two years.
Will last year’s record be broken?
Talking about the year 2023, a total of 345704 tourist vehicles came to Manali, in the year 2024, 3,65,617 vehicles passed through the green tax barrier and in the year 2025, till the month of November, 3,04,132 vehicles passed through the green tax barrier. In such a situation, more number of tourists are expected to reach Manali than in the last two years. Where the tourism business had come to a standstill during the rainy season, now due to snowfall the number of tourists increases significantly during Christmas and New Year.
