Jamshedpur. The ongoing development work in Chakradharpur railway division is going to have a direct impact on the passengers traveling from Tatanagar. Railways has said that changes will be made in the running of many important trains running from Tatanagar from 20 December 2025 to 20 January 2026. These changes include canceling trips, short terminating trains and running some trains on changed routes. Passengers should keep these updates in mind before planning their journey, as it will have a direct impact on their journey.
These trains have been canceled
Due to development work, a total of 10 trips of 18109/18110 Tata–Itwari–Tata Express and 18183/18184 Tata–Rourkela–Tata Memu have been cancelled. These trains will not run at all on 20, 23, 27, 30 December 2025 and 03, 06, 10, 13, 17 and 20 January 2026. Passengers traveling by these trains daily will have to adopt other means and should confirm the official information of Railways before their journey, so that any kind of problem can be avoided.
Will have to change train in the middle of the journey
Similarly, two essential express trains will also not be sent to their entire destination. 22861 Howrah–Katabanji Express and 12871 Howrah–Titlagarh Express will be short terminated on 20, 23, 27, 30 December and 03, 06, 10, 13, 17 and 20 January. Trains in the return direction – 22862 Katabanji-Howrah Express and 12872 Titlagarh-Howrah Express – will also remain partially canceled on these dates. Due to these trains not covering the entire distance, passengers may have to change trains in the middle of the journey, hence it is important to plan in advance.

It has also been decided to run 18477 Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Utkal Express on a changed route due to development work. This train will pass through Cuttack, Sambalpur City and Jharsuguda Road. This change will be applicable on 22, 26, 29 December 2025 and 02, 05, 09, 12, 16 and 19 January 2026. Due to this, this train will remain canceled between Tatanagar and Jharsuguda for several days between December 20 and January 20, due to which passengers should be more careful and decide their travel time properly.
